BAAMA Job Board
dr. Indu Jeyachandran, gis lecturer, san jose state university
I am Dr. Indu Jeyachandran, currently teaching a GIS overview course in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at San Jose State University. Having graduated with my PhD in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Utah, preceded by my masters in Remote Sensing & GIS from Anna University, India, I was in search of my dream job. I was on the lookout for a job where I could use my experience, skills and passion for remote sensing and GIS. I was constantly scouting national job websites and various professional associations’ job boards on a daily basis to find a job that I would really relish. I relocated back to the Bay Area by the end of October 2014, after a brief stint on the east coast. I started my local job search in the field of GIS by late November. My first and foremost resource was the BAAMA job board where I scouted out suitable job openings on a daily basis. I came across the posting for a GIS lecturer in the Department of Regional and Urban Planning on December 4, 2014. I applied for the position that very evening, interviewed for the job couple of days later, and voila! I got the job! Four months into my job as a GIS lecturer I am enjoying every moment of teaching. I am so happy and excited to have landed my dream job! Many thanks to the BAAMA job board, which helped me to secure my dream job.
A word to those on the lookout for GIS job opportunities:
“If you are passionate about GIS and looking for job opportunities in the Bay Area, just stop by the BAAMA job board, and you will land a job where you will flourish.”
